Tenley has a long history and evolution about its name. The name ‘Tennally’s Town’ began in 1790 due to area tavern owner – John Tennally. It is one of the oldest neighborhood in the district of Columbia, seconded by Georgetown. Development kicked in the late 18th century as a once known village transited to an urban city with blending town feel and amenities along Wisconsin Avenue.
